Baking the Potatoes
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes under cold water. Pat them dry with a towel.
- Prick each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
- Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
