  • 4 large Russet potatoes Choose potatoes that are firm and free of blemishes.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For brushing the potatoes.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt For seasoning.

Method
 

Baking the Potatoes
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes under cold water. Pat them dry with a towel.
  3. Prick each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
