Ingredients
  

Cake Layer
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix or your favorite flavor
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
Ice Cream Layer
  • 1 quart ice cream any flavor, softened
Topping
  • 1 cup whipped cream for frosting
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles optional

Method
 

Prepare Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before removing it.
Assemble Ice Cream Cake
  1. Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
  2. Place one layer of cake on a serving plate. Spread softened ice cream evenly over the top.
  3. Top with the second layer of cake and wrap the entire cake in plastic wrap. Freeze for at least 2 hours to set.
Frost and Serve
  1. Remove the cake from the freezer and unwrap it. Frost the top and sides with whipped cream.
  2. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top and add sprinkles if desired.
  3. Slice and serve immediately.
