Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Base
  • 1 lb ground beef 80% lean
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs plain or seasoned
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup plus more for topping
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  3. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
