Ingredients
  

Waffle Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries such as strawberries or blueberries
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream optional

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Cook the Waffles
  1. Preheat the waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Pour a small amount of batter into the preheated waffle maker and cook until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Repeat with the remaining batter, keeping the cooked waffles warm in a low oven if necessary.
Serve
  1. Serve the mini waffle bites warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, and whipped cream if desired.
