Ingredients
  

Cheese Base
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup milk adjust for desired consistency
Flavorings
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes with green chilies canned or fresh
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeño finely chopped, optional for heat
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish
  • 1 cup tortilla chips for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Cheese Mixture
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream cheese and milk. Stir until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until melted and creamy.
Add Flavorings
  1. Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and jalapeño (if using).
  2. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
Serve
  1. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
  2. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
