Method
Prepare the Filling
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add chopped Swiss chard and cook until wilted.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, sautéed vegetables, feta cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Prepare the Rolls
- Blanch Swiss chard leaves in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until softened.
- Lay a leaf flat, place 2-3 tablespoons of filling at the base, and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
Bake
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish.
- Place the rolls seam-side down in the dish and cover with remaining tomato sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
