Thai Basil Chicken

Ingredients
  

Chicken and Marinade
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast sliced thinly
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce for marinade
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for marinade
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for marinade
Vegetables and Sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 small Thai bird chilies sliced
  • 1 cup bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cups Thai basil leaves fresh
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce for sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce for sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce for sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar for sauce

Method
 

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced chicken, soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
Cook the Chicken
  1. Heat a wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the wok and set aside.
Stir-Fry Vegetables
  1. In the same wok, add garlic and chilies. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add sliced bell pepper and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
Combine and Serve
  1. Return the cooked chicken to the wok. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  2. Add Thai basil leaves and stir until wilted. Serve hot over rice.

Notes
